When Evil Seems to Prevail.

Newton.  A word forever marked.  Branded.  Tattooed in our heads.  With images of dead children.

Children and death. Painful.  Synonymous.

The world seemingly.  Unjust.  Why some.  Wake children.  And hold them close this morning.

While others will not.

And as mere men, we reason.  Try to unscramble the, “Why’s”.  Justify.  Unthought of behaviors with.  Psychology.  Bad upbringing.  Antisocial reasonings. Untangling what doesn’t make sense.

Tacking down our thoughts.  By needing.  Something.  An explanation for why “evil” seems to prevail.  Why the world has gone awry.

A word ever more foreign to our vocabulary.  Obsolete in today’s society.

Patting the opposing. Not acknowledging black and white.

But, anyone killing children has no excuse.

Worse yet, when things like this happen, we can be tempted into thinking….God must not exist.  And if He did…where was He?  Or, God must not be good.

But I encourage you….as the well of despair seems to rise within our nation.  Truth is found out.  And depression sinks in…

Open The Word.  Shut off the t.v.  Close the newspaper. And turn to Him.

And let’s call it what it is.  “Sin is lawlessness.”  Death and destruction is Satan unleashed.  God is all good.  All loving.  All kind.  All peace.  And we must remember….

“In Him there is no sin.”

And I encourage you….

“Beloved, do not forget….that with the Lord a day is as 1000 years and 1000 as a day.”  (2 Peter 3:8)

He has not left or forgotten His people.  The Lord is not willing that any should perish.

Scripture tells us in Hebrews that the longsuffering of the Lord is salvation.

And as the day’s pass.  Sin increases.  Evil seems to prevail and increase.

We can rejoice because we know…

The glorious day of the coming of our Lord, is near!

“Woe to the earth and sea,
because the devil has gone down to you.
He is filled with fury
because he knows his time is short.”  Rev 12:12
And our High Priest is not someone far from us.  A God made of stone who cannot sympathize with all our weaknesses (Heb 4:15).
The sorrow.  The loss.  The turmoil you might be feeling now.  Inside.
I mean, we should remember most.  Especially now at Christmas time.  That Jesus came down to bring salvation to the world.  And rid our world of sin.
And though evil’s unleashed.  We can be assured.  There is a place of rest for God’s people. (Heb 4:9)
So, do not lose heart, my friend.
Christ has prepared a place for us. A place of peace.  A place of rest.  A place where sin will never exist.
And a place where evil won’t run rampant.  And little kids won’t be killed….
When they go to school.

  5. Hi dear Jen
I cannot agree more with that Scripture that in Him there is no sin. It always reminds me that I need to not just come to Him, but stay in Him moment after moment .., day after day after day. If I don’t do that I will not be able to withstand sin.
    Much love XX

Mia – Ohhh…I love that Mia. That as we are wrapped in Him, sin cannot touch us. Because scripure tells us, “In Him is NO sin.” Good stuff!
