Women Taking the World by Storm

I hear of women words.  Back stabbing.  Vengeful looks.  And I shrink back….like I usually do….from drama.

Thanking God for silence.

Soul lifting quiet that comforts more than any long conversation with a friend.

And though I have coffee, lead with, pray with, nurture, and love my friendships….

My greatest comfort….Him.

My soul rest.

My kneeling place. My retreat of restoration…..filling every vain….

Where words mean nothing. And like The Faithful One that He is….

I always come away stronger.

More empowered. More filled with faith…..than enjoying any fickle ways of women.

Yet, divisiveness continues….

And I want nothing of it.

Hearing from young one growing.  Her learning……people are not always as they seem.  Are not always aligned….the confidante they may have agreed to be.

And I struggle teaching….Balance between self-respect and grace….

And it pains me to tell her…..we cannot always wear our hearts on our sleeve.

…..Unlike other safe place…..like home.

Transparent.  Candidness….in the world….can be attacked in a dog eat, dog eat world.

But then, late, with husband.  Driving.  I see hundreds of ladies walking.  In pink.

I watch and wonder…..what are they doing?

And I read.  3-day…..A sixty mile walk to help prevent breast cancer.

And I see one coming close to the finish line.  She wipes her face as water shoots from her eyes.

Me, wondering…..does she have cancer?  Or is she walking for someone she loved….who died?

And I see this mighty force.  A force so strong…..no bickering or jealousy can destroy.

Women empowered…..for a cause.  A purpose greater than pettiness and empty talk.

And I get it.

Love.

Love conquers all.

The power of a purpose.

Love always prevails.

And as we drive, we read.  Some have names written on them….of people deceased.  Others somber…..meditating on the cause for which they walk in peace.

Others laughing.  Some dancing.  Some rejoicing as they conquer this great feats of inspiration.

And women…..are not always as they seem to be…..I tell my daughter…..learning as a teen.  Sometimes they are stronger.  More capable. More able than it might seem.

……As we sit that night and talk.  And regurgitate the day.

Recalling the Bible.  Strong.  Leaders joining Paul and Silas.  Not fleeing….but following Jesus to the cross.

And how at the feet of the cross everything looks different.

And I am thankful.

How Perfect Love laid down His life for us.  And I see through His filter….

Love….

The kind that sets women free…..destroys idiosyncrasies…..and floods hearts with…

His Perfect Peace.

United.  A powerful source.  Taking the world by storm.

Women.

  1. Hi Jen – what a lovely tribute the strength of women, especially those who put their feet to the pavement for what they believe in. I also dislike the drama, had too much already thank you. Would rather walk for a cause.
    God bless

I want to be part of the army of women who Loves well…who Loves because He first loved us. May we march together today sweet sister…
