God is Still Good!

God is still good…..

When noise of pain echos in people’s ears…..and God speaks truth to try to draw them close to Him…but, they refuse to hear….

God is still good!

When there is a typhoon on the very same island our son is now staying on…

And we haven’t heard from him…..

God is still good!

When loved ones lay struggling for breath in hospital room….

And resists accepting Jesus.

God is still good!

When five year old sits on lap and spills coffee on laptop….my escape to your world.

God is still good!

When there are stories of children abused, hurt, alone, rejected.  And they step into your path….

And we wrestle with our flesh, when God asks, “What will you do?”.

God is still good!

See, I choose to believe…..

It has nothing to do with positive thinking…or positive confession….or simply believing that what we conjure up and selfishly want, always comes true.

Or that God is only good when heavens seem to part and skies are always blue….and sun always shines.

It is faith.  The faith rise….

A trusting.  A knowing.  God’s faithfulness remains through…..every trial.  Each and every circumstance.

And as days wrapped with Savior soon become many……we can look back.  Recall the goodness of our God.  And trust Him completely…..without feeling….

Like He is withholding…..punishing…..or abandoning us.  When tough things happen.

Instead, we begin to thank Him…..For every circumstance.  Because we have over and over…

Witnessed the ceaseless faithfulness of His love.

Trusting……The goodness of God always surfaces from hard times.  If we hold on when winters appear.

And I remember when we bought our house.  Worst winter in many years.

A few of our fruit trees could not endure.

The weakest ones died.

But, the others….come spring….bloomed colorful offspring covering the trees.

And the abundance of fruit that came from that hard winter….was too much to eat.

And I asked…..why?  Why is the fruit so big and juicy this year?

And someone told me….

The harsher the winter, the more abundant the fruit….Come spring.

And so.  At least from what I have seen……Fruit does not grow overnight, harvesting abundance from the course of an easy life.

Sometimes it takes cold weather, and tough people, and hard circumstances to produce the best crops of our lives.

Because it is through these things, we grow deep roots. Strong branches. Trusted soil.  Bending with His grace when the winds of this life come.

And, if we hang on through storms. Finish the race strong.  We can look back and see a legacy of the goodness of our God.

Learning in trials to give Him praise!

And the fruit will be worth the cost we paid for it….when we trust the goodness of our God.

So, I rejoice in…..

The Great Redeemer.

I hold onto…..the Father of all fruit.

I choose to see that no matter what tomorrow brings…..

I choose to believe…..yes, I choose to see……

God is still good.
