Have You Heard Yet? He Is Coming.

He lurks in the distance. I see him. Patient. Strong. Waiting.

We set up dreams, eclipses, preparing our life, dictating in regiments. And yet, the gentlemen that He is; stands off, still near…watching.

We juggle our circumstances, manage our conflicts, wrestle with doubt, fight for strength.

aaYet, nothing short of the fullness He wants to impart upon us. There. The gentleman, pacing with lion-like strength. Will we fail to welcome Him.  Fail to draw near the King of all things?

I hold tight at night.  Make way through this life that God has given me.  My eyes on the near, but there in the far….His eyes have never left me…and they have never left you.  He sees us, anticipating, us drawing nearer.

But are we needy, have we found our lives weak enough yet, to seek Him?

Revelations tells us the Lion of Judah is coming.  The triumph of our Jesus, coming in His fullness.  And yet, we often see small steps of trepidation, when the victory is already His.  We embrace the lamb, but hesitate at embracing a God, full of strength and victory.

As a little girl, I went out to my Lord at night. The lion and lamb sitting down as one. I tip-toed fearfully, concerned the lion might devour me.

And yet, I grow and He has grown near me. Devouring me still; not with angry jaws, but with a love that can’t be found in gentle….it only found in strength.

And oh how our God has many facets, and our Jehovah who is returning is asking, pleading with us…won’t we come to His banqueting table, where His love overwhelms us?  Won’t we stop trying to be our own King of the Forrest….when all of heaven and hell will bow at the entry of the man resurrected?  The one coming in the clouds, the one riding strong from the heavens….

And yet, we get caught on Merry-go-rounds, when like the battle of Gilead….it doesn’t matter our count, our strength, or our equipment…all that matters is that God is on our side.  His weapons of warfare, His Lion inside us, is the strength we need to slay our giants, scale all walls, melt all mountains…

And yet, here we are, maneuvering in our own way…

Judah meaning “praise”, “repentance”.  The promise of blessed fulfillment, the joy that comes from a lifetime of mourning.  He approaches softly, gently, strong, there, on the other side of our worries…Can’t you almost just see Him?

Will we raise the banner of love to the one who is more than tender and merciful, but the one who is King and who reigns and will reign forever triumphantly?

For the Lion of Judah waits for us.  Waits for each of us to approach Him.  He is wise, patient, kind….He is the One who stands strong, the holder of our victory.

And when we approach Him, because of His blood, His grace, like a lamb longs to comfort and accept us.  Yet, also like the lion, He roars in His fulness over our enemies…

And we are safe.  Here.  With him near, not in the distance.  As He asks of us, “Never leave this place. This secret place behind the veil. This place where I am your strength and your victory”.

And we trust the Good Shepherd to lead us, because He is more than a man resurrected…But the Lion and the Lamb.  Jesus.  In His fullness.  Coming back for us soon…

And it is then, no matter who we are or what we have done….all of us will fall at His feet and praise Him.

This maker.  This Savior.  This God incarnate.  This  Lion of Judah. Waiting.  Asking.  Interceding for us…

Even now.  In this moment.  As you read this. He stands in the distance and asks, “Will you come near”?

“Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.”  Rev 5:5

  1. Love Love Love this Jen… your travail to bring posts to birth…but it is so worth it as the mighty encouragement that pours forth from your fingers inspires many to hang on tightly and not give up…no matter how tempting that is some days !!!!

    1. Oh yes, may our Lord give us long-range vision to see He is good, He is loving, He is coming soon, and in retrospect relationship with Him triumphs this temporary suffering.

  2. This captured me in the stillness of its truth, “And yet, I grow and He has grown near me. Devouring me still; not with angry jaws, but with a love that can’t be found in gentle….it only found in strength.”
I love this thought.. He is devouring us with a love that is found in strength. This love is the anointing that equips us to not only stay close to Him but to inch closer to others so that they can see the promise of hope and protection combined in who He is, this lion-lamb Jesus who is fierce and gentle and loves with the same power this unique combination holds. Powerful!
    Thanks so much!
    Blessings,
