Meet Timmy

As one remarkable Chinese daughter lands in America, a boy with bridle bone desperately needs Timmy-8-2014-1parents, our foster family is frozen in a system which has included a two-year battle, yet our foster daughter is still far from legally free…

God reminds me of the value of children.

“It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.” Luke 17:2 tells us.

I think about how the disciples shoo’ed the children away as if they were unwanted, unnecessary, irrelevant to the great ministry Jesus was doing.

But how, Jesus himself took the opposite approach. He called children near, drew them close, defended them with his words.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these,” Jesus advises in Matthew 19:14.

And in our culture of dispensable, replaceable, and unnecessary…it is refreshing to find people after God’s own heart who are willing to sacrifice and fight for children.

Still what we don’t realize is that when we fight for children, there can be a mirror effect. We can witness His glory in ways we didn’t understand beforehand, if we had simply sat back in our lives of comfort.

Today, I want to share with you a friend of mine. His name is Timmy.  Timmy is a boy who is on the verge of aging out of the system in China. Possibly being stuck without any earthly parents, forever.

Timmy is not just an ordinary kid, He is special. Timmy has a life and a purpose God has ordained for him before the beginning of time.

He is a witness of perseverance and has a spirit that simply won’t give up.

Timmy also goes by his Chinese name, Taotao. Please read this entry from a little over a year ago:

“…Only one month ago Taotao was on the verge of death, and only two and a half weeks ago Taotao was largely unresponsive and immobile after removal of a large brain tumor. Now, after ample doses of encouragement, lots of gentle nudging, and endless reading sessions by Alicia, her mom, and other volunteers, Taotao has flourished emotionally and regained much of his gross and fine motor skills. He is now feeding himself, speaking in complete sentences, reading and writing Chinese again, walking around unassisted, and laughing and joking every chance he gets. He has also discovered a new interest–Chinese weiqi.  We have lots to learn from this good-natured, courageous, cooperative, fun-loving, humorous and positive boy who says at each stage of his recovery, “Let me try. I need to challenge myself.” ~ Baobei Foundation

Can someone join me in saying, Timmy is a miracle!

Timmy desperately is looking for his forever family. Could you possibly be his forever Timmymom or dad?

There are a number of people advocating for Timmy.

Time is short.

And we need a home for Timmy, now!

One exciting incentive is Timmy has a $5000.00 grant towards his adoption through the Baobei Foundation, as well as an addition $2000.00 donation from the Jeff Knipe family.

That’s $7000.00 towards the adoption of Timmy available, as well as an account set up to help get funds, here.

To inquire more about Timmy, or TaoTao as they call him in Chinese, (even if you just have questions) please e-mail me at…cjavellaneda@gmail.com.

Oh and if adoption is not on your radar…

Please, will you take a few seconds and share this post via social media so little Timmy can find His forever family before it’s too late?

A little boy’s hope and future couldn’t depend on it.
