Why UNITE? Link-up!

I refused to do it.  For months.  For days.  I swore I would never do a blog hop.  I mean, just the sound of it…reminds me more of a bunny rabbit…..than any online artistic writing that I had hoped to dabble in.

And it’s not Easter.
And my specialty is not so much organizing. Initiating. And trying to stir the delicate dance….that happens between people.
I am all about Jesus.  Every cell within my Spirit.  Longing for Him.  Alone. To be where He is.  Only about His business.  Drawing myself and others….To the place where perfect peace lies.

His heart.
Home.
But isn’t it just like God.  To  call us from out of our comfortable zone.  Ask us to do…what we have not thought….to do in and of ourselves.  To stretch us, where the real fruit lies….just one step north of self.

And, what if….Jesus plans and our agenda’s clash….like a freight train going down tracks.  Smack dab in a the middle of an unsuspecting night.

And what if engines need gas. And obedience is the liquid that fuels our sputtering LIVES.  And while God calls us to join in, draw near each other, link up.
                      It sits there.
                                                          And sits there.
                                                                                              And sits there….
As the world seems to pass.
What then?

When God’s intentions collide with our desired missions?  Do we obey?  Or do we forfeit where He is? What He is doing? Where He is taking us….because it doesn’t go our way?
And with arms reaching.  Arms of love that don’t stop the world from seeing. Him.  In us.  Will we come.  Become.  Transform.  Because….
As we welcome others.  We welcome God.  And we can’t say we love God and not love other people.
And as I slay my own agenda.  Inviting you.  Once again.  To link up.  I stumble across two twitter messages….that stare at me.  As eyes.  From God.

True faith works.

We do not want to merely β€œsee” beauty. We want to be UNITED with it, to receive it into ourselves, to become part of it. #CSLewis

And I think of how often, we stand back from afar.  Watch. Observe. Look at the world from behind a glass wall.  Instead of breaking down the barriers.  Instead of risking.  Fighting. Believing to be “One”, “Whole”, “Complete”, in Him.

That’s why this link-up is committed toward addressing both…

The obstacles to UNITY.  And….
How we can have true UNITY in….
  • Our marriages.
  • With our children.
  • With difficult family members.
  • Our communities.
  • In hard situations.
  • Within the church.
