Forsaken?

Word hungry…..before leaving.

Surrender.

Time on my knees….The only way to strength.

And I hold out this day….in palms of hope. Offering it as a sacrifice….

That He would take it. Make it. Not mine….but His own.

Lists growing long.

China. Tomorrow.

Schedules.  Packing. Gathering for families.

And yet. In deep tides.  Rests tranquility…..still.

Sustained from The Foundation that circumstances can’t kill.

Refreshing.  Preparing. Lifting. Encouraging.

God Words…..The timeless teachings of Christ.

Gospel full force…coming to life….there…..in the palm of my hands.

And Bibles.  A gift.

A rare gift.  Often taken advantage of…….Given tokens of time to…….Or all together dismissed.

Yet, I know…many have died.  Suffered.  Layed down their lives……

For the sake of the gospel…

China.  Man imprisoned.  For printing.

Online. Amazon.  Bibles scarcely in Mandarin.

And yet, why is it….what we have access to the most….we often use least?

Countless versions.

NKJV. Amplified. Message. New Living Version.  The list goes on and on…

Yet, we struggle…

….To read.  Is it because we don’t think we need…..the gospel?

And I hear of Chinese. Devouring Word from cover to cover. Consuming Holy Scripture as if…..

The Word alone has power….

To change. Transform. Teach.

And at meeting last night.  Bikers….rejected from churches.  Because of appearance…

Yet, they held scripture….

Falling apart.  Worn cover to cover.

While other Bible’s sit on a shelves undiscovered.

And I pray before taking Bibles into China. The God Word clear…..

That though gifts….and love….and treasures are sweet…..

More than anything…..China needs….

The Gospel.

And not just man’s rendition….;

But, alive. True. The real description…..

Of Jesus. His Message.  His life changing truth.

So I risk….

Like Corrie Ten Boom….praying authorities won’t see…

Holy. Inspired.  Living. Beating……

Breathing inside my bags.  Tucked deep.

Hope. Treasure.  This honor to read…..God’s Word.

The Gospel….with all power to set free.

  1. nice…best wishes on the trip…we all need more of the gospel…and yes not our own interpretation but the power that resides in it….

why is what we have access the most rarely used…this is a key question…good stuff….

  2. To feed myself the Word every day and quit searching for fulfillment elsewhere. I have a glut of Bibles yet I seek the living among the dead. Bless your trip.

  4. I am here often and don’t always comment, but you should know your words ring true. We have a lot of bibles and that may be an understatement. My hubby devours the word like food, the bread of life. I on the other hand have a hard time making my way through the 66 books. I believe God knows, He wakes me with scriptures on my tongue and screams them in my dreams. Pours the fire into me. I am praying for you sister, God bless you and may He move and use you as His empty vessel. You inspire me!

  5. J, we are praying for you! Matt 11:28-30 is a great verse to take with you and for the people there. May God show you the way and bless your footsteps! LOVE YOU so very much! Thinking of you all everyday!

  6. Peace and stillness in the midst of all the new you will find on your adventure in China. I can’t imagine what joy you will behold on so many faces. Blessings, janae
