A Hypocrite. One who’s actions don’t line up with their words. A faker. Poser. One desiring public approval. Religious. Self-Righteous. One who walks in High and Mightiness. Try and hiding. Disguising, with words, hidden truth inside.
Who among us are perfect? Those without sin, let them cast the first stone. We are not alone. We all pretend, at times. Like Cinderella, we just hope to enter the ball. Put on a masquerade, and at times, perform for the world. Keeping our fairy tale life away from the rags, our weariness, or our fears. We hide, in a dress made of white. Seeking approval, recognition, esteem. Masquerading as holy, or good, or revered.
But we fail.
All of us fail. None of us measure up. Rising to the “perfect”, the world hails. Not Barbies or Ms. Clevers. We’re human. Let’s not be deceived.
We struggle, we fight, to be more, do more….sometimes, to just believe, that we were created for a purpose. Destined for a cause. Made for the greater…a global, intentional cause.
Cloaked in materialism. Drown with world sorrows. We retreat to our “castles” with high paying mortgages.
But I say, what if? What if, we took off our masks? Tore off our cloaks? Entered the dance? …just as we are? What if the “perfect”, defiled from all truth, led us to “imperfect”…and that would be enough.
What if we shed lies, deceit, conceit, doubt? Walked real? Lived truth? Danced without regret?
Took off the make-up, that hides the lines? Tore down the walls? Lived our lives?
Lay, exposed….real….to the rest of the world.
Would we be less than?
Would we really need to fear. If we were not like our neighbor or wanting their green grass…but instead embraced, the beauty of our own dance.
Dance, I say. Dance. ……Just like you are. Broken. Trying. Determined. Hoping. Persevering. Believing.
Beautiful.
Courageous.
Fearless.
True.
Not clones of perfection….but created, chosen, just as you are….by the God of the Universe.
