Redeemed

Not sure when I knew.  Very young I suppose.

Staring at images that played before the screen…of children broken, poverty….things unseen.

I ached, even then, for the least of these.

I knew, God was calling me to many greater things.

Others laughed, played…I could hear them outside.  But me?  Captivated by the reality of other people’s lives.

A world, so easy not to see. Stuck in our own safety walls.  Hidden.  Unseen.

I pass them in the city streets. Longing for food or drink.

They call to me from a child’s face who’s been neglected, deprived….beaten.

Who am I….but one.  Who I am…to save the world?

But I know, there is more, than what’s comfortable to this world.

A neighbor, co-worker, family even…if we were to ask. Addicted. Stricken, by sins devastation.

Recovery, a grueling task.

But Our Savior, Our Redeemer, Our True Father in this life. He came. He rescues, from all sin & demise.

Often found him, not in the mountain top.  The sun. In glory days.

But I see Him most in valleys as He carries me here….always.

Why fear the dark, when the Light of Creation parts the ways?

Light calling us to rise, defeat the enemy of fleshly ways.

Awaken.  Hear Him.  Your Savior as He calls.
